EV charger installation
A charger that suits your switchboard, your supply and where you park, installed by the licensed electrician who quotes it. Tony picks up, Tony turns up, Tony does the job.
AGT Power is Tony Galea, a licensed electrician in Surry Hills who installs EV chargers at homes and strata buildings across Sydney's Inner City, Eastern Suburbs and Lower North Shore. What the installation involves
Buy a charger that suits your property, not one that needs extra work you didn't plan for. A charger is only as good as the wiring behind it, so Tony checks four things before anything is ordered.
Your switchboard
Whether it has room for a new circuit and safety switch, or needs a switchboard upgrade first.
Your supply
Whether the property's power supply can run a charger alongside everything else you use.
The cable run
How the cable gets from the switchboard to where you park, and how far it has to go.
The charger
Tony talks through the charger you have in mind and confirms whether it suits your setup.
Chargers at home and in strata buildings
At a house
The charger usually goes in the garage, the carport or beside the driveway, wired from your own switchboard.
In an apartment building
The car space can be a long way from your unit's board and the building has its own rules, so talk to your strata manager before you book.
For strata managers
Looking at chargers for a building's car park? Call Tony about that too.
How we work
From the first call to the finished charger, you deal with Tony, a licensed and insured electrician. The person who prices the job is the person who installs it.
Call or text Tony
Tell him about the car, the charger you have in mind and where you park, and text him a photo of your switchboard.
Get a price
If Tony can price it from that, the quote is free. If he needs to see it first, it's the standard $150 + GST call-out.
Agree the details
Tony confirms the charger, the cable run and the work with you. In an apartment building, get strata approval first.
Installed and certified
Tony installs and tests the charger, gives you the compliance certificate and shows you how to use it.

Questions people ask
It depends on the charger, your switchboard and how far the cable has to run. If Tony can price it from what you tell him on the phone, that's free. If he needs to see it first, that's the standard call-out of $150 + GST, then $100 an hour + GST from when he arrives.
Both. Tony can supply the charger, or install one you've already bought. Either way he checks it suits your switchboard, your supply and where you park before anything goes in.
Sometimes. An older switchboard may have no room for a new circuit or safety switch, and then it needs upgrading before the charger goes in. Many don't. Tony looks at your switchboard and supply first and tells you which applies before anything is ordered or booked.
Often, yes, but the building's rules come first. Your car space may be a long way from your unit's switchboard, and the owners corporation usually has a say in work on common property. Talk to your strata manager first, then call Tony to talk through the installation.
Yes. In NSW, installing an EV charger on its own circuit is electrical installation work that needs a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, and Tony gives you one when the job is done.
Yes. Tony stands behind his work. How long the warranty runs depends on the product installed, from 24 months up to seven years, so ask Tony what applies to the charger you choose.
Tony invoices every job. You can pay by bank transfer, or by card or online from an invoice or payment link he texts to your phone. On larger jobs he takes a deposit.
